Russian Far East (Russian: Д́альний Вост́ок Росс́ии; English transliteration: Dalny Vostok Rossii) is an informal term that refers to the Russian part of the Far East, i.e., extreme south-east parts of Russia, between Siberian Federal District and the Pacific Ocean.
The Russian Far East basically corresponds to the territories of Amur Oblast, Chukotka, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Kamchatka Oblast, Koryakia, Khabarovsk Krai, Magadan Oblast, Primorsky Krai, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, and Sakhalin Oblast.
Russian Manchuria is a part of the Manchu empire acquired by Russia at the treaties of Aigun (1858) and Peking (1860), during the period of 19th century European colonialism.

In 2000 the region was made one of seven Russian administrative districts; Khabarovsk is the district administrative center.
