White movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The most common goal of the white forces was to overthrow the Bolshevik government in favor of the Russian Constituent Assembly, a democratically elected body which was to determine the future political fate of Russia.
Many "white" organizations were formed for the purpose of liberating Russia from the Soviet regime, such as the Russian All-Military Union, the Brotherhood of Russian Truth, and the National Alliance of Russian Solidarists.
Russian cadet corps were founded in several countries in order to prepare the next generation for the "spring campaign" (a term coined by white emigres meaning a hoped for renewal of their campaign against the Bolsheviks).

The White Guard (Russian: Белая гвардия) is a novel by 20th century Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov, famed for his critically-acclaimed later work The Master and Margarita.
The White Guard first appeared in serial form in the Soviet-era literary journal Rossiya in 1926, but was never fully released as the magazine was closed by the USSR government.
His widow managed to have The White Guard partially published in the literary journal Moskva in 1966, and the entire novel was finally published as a whole in 1973.

 White Guard
The White Guards is one translation of the Finnish term Suojeluskunta (plural: Suojeluskunnat, Finland-Swedish: Skyddskår) that unfortunately has received many different translations to English, for instance: Security Guard, Civil Guard, National Guard, White Militia, Protection Guard, Protection Corps and Protection Militia.
The first violent clash between Red and White Guards was already in July 1906 in Helsinki, but the renewed Russian oppression ment a common enemy, why serious conflicts would wait until after the February Revolution in Russia 1917.
The first serious battles were in the night of January 19th, a week later followed by the Senate's declaration on January 25th transforming the White Guards into the Army of Finland, and on January 26th the order of rebellion was issued.

 91/30 Sniper Page
Many Russian rifles and their optical sight components have been re-built during their many years of service, and this is generally indicated by a box with one or two diagonal crosses on the timber – which is generally roughly finished with hand-brushed shellac - and many of the metal components.
It is common to encounter Russian PU rifles with what is apparently a rifle serial number, scope number, or both, hand engraved into the detachable scope mount, but it is also not unknown for that component to be unmarked, apart from a non-descript manufacturer’s stamp.
Unlike their Russian cousins, the author has found no evidence of any number being stamped on the left side of the chamber, likewise the scope mount components – which also display finer attention to detail during manufacture - are generally unmarked, save for customary “02” stamps.

 Russian Blue Cat Breed Information
Unlike many modern cat breeds, the Russian Blue is a naturally occurring breed which is believed to originate in the port af Arkhangelsk, Russia, although the only evidence of this is anecdotal.
Russian Blues should not be confused with 'British Blues' (which are not a distinct breed but rather a British Shorthair with a blue coat), nor the Chartreux or Korat which are two other naturally occurring breeds of blue cats.
This was done by careful mating of a white cat from Siberia and the Russian Blues from her cattery.

 Domestics
Russian Blue breeders all over the country have surely heard this at almost any show that they go to, just as Siamese (and Colorpoint Shorthair and Birman, and Himilayan) breeders hear it in reference to point restricted cats, and other breeders about their breeds.
The exception to this is the occasional “pointed’ Russian Blue which is the result of a recessive gene going back to that brief Siamese outcross over 50 years ago.
There are the occasional occurrences where the undocumented cat is indeed a Russian Blue, but these “findings” are usually the result of a pedigreed pet ending up in a pet store without its papers or a pedigreed pet becoming separated from her original owner (either given away or she got out and got lost).
