Rutger Hauer is an exceptional actor as well as being an exceptional man. He portrays his characters so well it brings all his films to life.I think it's about time we gave this award to Rutger as it is well deserved.
Rutger deserves recognition as he is a very hardworking actor who through his brilliant career has developed the ability to bring all his character portragals to life from his early dutch performances to latest releases like 'Simon Magus'.So many memorable and moving portrayals and so versatile his talent knows no bounds.

Rutger has starred in more than 80 movies, including Verhoeven's Academy Award-nominated Soldier of Orange, the beautiful fantasy Ladyhawke and Ermano Olmi's melancholy The Legend of the Holy Drinker, which was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and won Rutger the Best Actor Award at the 1988 Seattle International Film Festival.

In drawing the two Rutger Hauer images, I did what was the opposite to normal: relying totally on reference and interpreting directly without creating something based on my imagintaion.
Despite this, and the poor quality of the paused screen image, I persisted in it like an obsession and comprised what I felt to be the most striking imagery from the film, not to mention capturing some different facets of Rutger's personality.
