In 1992, Dr. Dre left N.W.A. and Ruthless Records for Death Row records, leading to the end of N.W.A. and the beginning of a fued between two old friends.
Ruthless Records has been around since 1987...15 years due to the help of Tomika Wright, Eazy's widow, to whom he gave controll of Ruthless Records to when he married her in his hospital room.

He is also notable for being the co-founder of Death Row Records (with Suge Knight); and the founder of Aftermath Entertainment, a successful imprint for Interscope Records that features multi-platinum artists such as Eminem, 50 Cent, (and more recently) Busta Rhymes, Eve, Stat Quo, The Game and of course Dr. Dre himself.
In 1986, he and fellow World Class Wreckin' Cru member DJ Yella were two of the founding members of N.W.A, a highly successful and controversial group that created the prototype for much of what was termed "gangsta rap" in the 1990s.
After a dispute with Eazy E, a founding member of N.W.A. and Ruthless Records, Dre left the group at the peak of its popularity in 1991 to form Death Row Records with Suge Knight.

Ruthless Records has not scheduled the release of any upcoming Bone Thugs N Harmony album projects in general and specifically we are not involved or associated with any upcoming Bone Thugs N Harmony two-disc album release entitled "The Vault".
Regardless of the result, Ruthless is not involved in the supposed release of "The Vault" and will consider any such release as an infringement of the law.

Out of L.A.'s Ruthless Records--which in 1988 produced the kick-off gangsta album, "Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A. (Niggaz With Attitude)--came Death Row Records, by virtue of a visit from Suge Knight and baseball-bat-wielding thugs to the management at Ruthless which resulted in the release from his contract of rap artist, Andre Young (Doctor Dre).
Then, during the Christmas holidays, a New York record promoter, Mark Anthony Bell, was allegedly beaten with champagne bottles by Death Row artists and hangers-on and forced by Knight to drink urine from a glass--all in an attempt to get Bell to reveal the addresses of Puffy Combs and his mother.
Within months however, Shakur was dead--in a car-to-car shooting on the Las Vegas Strip--and Knight himself, who had joined in a brawl caught on videotape in the MGM Grand the night of the murder, was in prison for violating probationary conditions on his 1992 no-contest plea to pistol-whipping two aspiring rappers.

Bizzy Bone is suing four record companies, a video company and one CEO because he wasn't given the $1 million advance he was promised for his second solo album and because he thinks a recently released Bone video portrays him in a negative light.
Officially, Bizzy Bone is suing Sony Records, Loud Records, Compton Records, Epic Music Video, Ruthless Records and its CEO, Tomica Wright, for breach of contract, violation of right of publicity, false designation of origin, unfair competition, interference with prospective economic advantage, conspiracy, demand for accounting, constructive trust and permanent injunction.
Ruthless Records (NWA, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) co-founder Jerry Heller recently won an appeal in his libel suit against publishing giant Doubleday, allowing him to continue the suit which he originally filed in 1998.
