Considering the ending, I'd say that Darovit lived a hermit on Ruusan for the rest of his life, deliberately abandoning the power of the Force.
It is unlikely that he was discovered to be there, as after the last Battle of Ruusan, it was evacuated and presumably deleted from the archives.
Considering that Bane is well into his thirties, this implies that the Battle of Ruusan had been going on for a long time, perhaps upwards of two years.

The Sith Lord Kaan and his Brotherhood of Darkness did battle with the Jedi Army of Light.
The Battle of Ruusan is in the Jedi vs Sith comics that were done to tie the Jedi Order and the Sith as shown in the new movies and the comics that shown a diferent Jedi Order and several Sith existing at the same time without being called Darth something.
Not that LucasArts cares about Star Wars continuity (as the KotOR games so clearly shows) but the Battle of Ruusan was "borrowed" from the Valley of the Jedi that is from Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight.

I'm planning to start a new SW campaign set around 1000 BBY, that is, during the final confrontation between the Republic forces (led by Lord Hoth) and the Sith (led by Lord Kaan).
Is there any sources that have additional information (as most seem to have a bit about the battle itself, and the main players, and that's it).
Personally I think we need more "filler" novels and sourcebooks - novels and sourcebooks dealing with what happened during the huge gaps in the timeline.

Just to clear up some misconceptions, the "Thought Bomb" that was used by Lord Kaan did not kill all of the jedi on the entire planet of Ruusan.
When it detonated, it only killed individuals that were force-sensitive within a certain radius, not the entire planet.
