Also, as previously reported, Ryan Gentles has promised significantly longer touring duties for the upcoming release than the schedule the Strokes followed in support of Room On Fire.
Gentle's latest email also goes on to confirm that recording veteran Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley) will be mixing the album once production wraps-- which is said to conclude this July.

In a letter to the band’s official fan club, Gentles wrote that the Strokes entered a New York studio on Monday to begin work with Godrich on the follow-up to 2001's Is This It.
Among the songs tentatively slated for the album are several the group has been performing live, including "You Talk Way Too Much," "The Way It Is," "Meet Me in the Bathroom" and "I Can't Win," as well as a number of untitled, newer compositions that have not yet been performed in public.
The group will not tour until after the album is completed, Gentles said, after which they plan to do a world tour, with tentative plans to hit the U.S., New Zealand, Japan, Australia, South America and Europe.

The Strokes have revealed that they have almost finished work on their third album — but it may not be released until the New Year.
The band are planning to release a single in the autumn, and play a handful of club dates across Europe around the same time, band manager Ryan Gentles has told the band’s mailing list.
Gentles said: “I can tell you that there are 13 songs that are nearly fully completed, but we still have not mixed the album, so we'll continue into June and July with that.

I'm not entirely sure what the other guys are up to, but Ryan went on to become the manager of, I can't even believe it, radio darling The Strokes.
Not that Ryan isn't deserving of legions of fans; he was always a nice and personable guy when I had spoken with him.

 Update: The Strokes Start Sophomore Set With Godrich
Group manager Ryan Gentles tells Billboard.com the Strokes are currently recording two unnamed songs with Godrich, and, "if those two songs go well, and the band is happy, then, and only then, will they continue to record with Nigel and do the rest of the album with him.
The Strokes/Godrich pairing has been rumored for months as the Strokes have been writing material for the new album, which could be out as early as August or September.
Gentles said the band will definitely record new songs debuted on recent tours, including "The Way It Is," "I Can't Win," "Meet Me in the Bathroom," and "You Talk Way Too Much."

The New York rock quintet is touring in support of its sophomore RCA album, "Room on Fire," which debuted in October at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 406,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
A commercial single for the cut will be released in North America in March, backed by what Gentles describes as "the Strokes' first real B-side," the song "Modern Girls and Old Fashioned Men." Recorded during a fall tour stop in Seattle, the cut features up-and-coming artist Regina Spektor.
Gentles says the Strokes' summer plans are not yet fully finalized, but that the group is weighing offers from a number of major European festivals.
