		Town's 1st away game of the season was against the strong Ryhill and Havercroft side who finished a creditable 4th and also won the Division 1 cup in their first season in Division 1.
		Following the break Ryhill quickly added a third after Town failed to clear a corner, a ball back into the box was flicked on before being met 6 yards out with a 2nd header from Helliwell.
		Ryhill continued to look dangerous on the break keeping the defence busy but with 8 minutes to go consigned Town to their 2nd defeat of the season.

		Ryhill is (was) a mining village but due to pit closures is now a commuter village for people working in Barnsley, Leeds, and Wakefield, due to its proximity to the motorway network.
		Ryhill is a friendly place, everyone speaks to you, even if they have never seen you before in their lives.
		Ryhill is virtually joined to the next village, Havercroft, and whilst both have their own Parish Councils everything in the two villages is shared - like the new Sports Centre and the Cricket Club.

		Ryhill beat Rothwell Athletic 3 v 2 at Knaresborough Town FC to secure the West Yorkshire League Division 1 Cup on Saturday 1st May 2004 to achieve a cup double.
		Ryhill have also introduced a second team that will playing in the Wakefield League during the 2004/2005 season and this team will have lots of young players who hopefully will break through to the first team during the coming season.
		Ryhill have lost Laurent Jamot who has returned to France and Graham Aubrey who has accepted a job in Dubai, if there are any players interested in joining Ryhill, please feel free to come down on a Saturday and introduce yourself to the manager, Lincoln Woods.

		Ryhill drove down the slope and moved onto a 10-0 lead until Paul Woodcock sent Russell Shepard over in the Corner to give them hope in the second Half.
		Shaun Alexander popped over the all important drop goal for Crofton to lead 15-10, and when Ryhill scored in the last minute a conversion would have meant heartbreak for the Cougars but the kick sailed wide and the points went to Crofton.
		Cougars were narrowly defeated by near neighbours Ryhill but despite playing against a much bigger opposition battled on throughout and were far from disgraced in defeat.

		Pick of the bunch for Ryhill was John Beaumont who took the Tingey Coaches’ man of the match, pushed all the way by Gary Hunton and Shaun Staves, while Gary Hunton topped the Havercroft and Ryhill Sports Centre tackle count with Steve Walker and Liam Rodgerson runners up.
		Next week Ryhill return to league duty when they entertain Wakefield side, Brookhouse in division 2 of the CMS Yorkshire League, kick off 2.00pm.
