 | | SBI was established in 2000 by Hiroaki Kitano, a pioneer in systems biology, to promote systems biology research. |
 | | Harajuku, a Tokyo downtown area near Shibuya, is the head-quarter of SBI as well as a hub of activities for computational approach. |
 | | Currently, SBI is engaged in a series of research program largely funded by branches of Japanese government, such as Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), New Energy Development Organization (NEDO), Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Science, and Technology (MEXT). |
