U.S. Navy SEALs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Those qualifying to become Navy SEALS are authorized to wear and display the Special Warfare Badge, also known as the SEAL Trident.
This badge, commonly called the "trident" or "Budweiser" (for its resemblance to the Budweiser Eagle), serves as the insignia for the SEALs as a whole and is the largest and most recognizable warfare pin in the United States Navy.

 US NAVY SEALs
SEALs were attached to CSAR Units to help retrieve downed pilots, in one case rescuing a pilot who'd managed to pilot his crippled F-16 fighter off the coast of Kuwait before ejecting; he was rescued by the SEALs and the SH-60 Seahawk 35 minutes after they'd gotten word of his approximate position.
SEALs attached to the USS Curts (FFG-38) were the first to retake Kuwait i territory when OH-58D's attached to the Curts were fired upon by forces stationed on an island to observe Coalition Naval and Air activities.
SEALs were also the first into Kuwait city, racing ahead of Allied forces to scout for Iraqi resistance in Chenowth-built Fast Attack Vehicles and then later escorted the US embassador to the US embassy and provided security for the perimeter.

USATODAY.com - Six Navy SEALs sue AP over Iraq prisoner photos
The story said the photos appear to show Navy SEALs in Iraq sitting on hooded and handcuffed detainees and also what appear to be bloodied prisoners, one with a gun to his head.
"In fact, the SEALs showed more respect for the insurgents and terrorists that they were apprehending by obscuring their faces than the AP did for the Navy SEALs who were in Iraq risking their lives."
The AP later reported that the Navy's preliminary findings showed most of the 15 photos transmitted by the agency were taken for legitimate intelligence-gathering purposes and showed commandos using approved procedures.

 Navy SEALs’ (R)
IN "Navy SEALs," Charlie Sheen and Michael "Terminator" Biehn lead an elite cadre of male models into terrorist territory for a series of sensational shoot-'em-ups on land and at sea.
A group of former Navy SEALs from the original '62 group sat behind me at a preview screening and had a high time loudly identifying weapons and explosives.
Still, filmed and edited like a two-hour "Not just a job" ad and loaded with high-tech weaponry, secret code words, neat stunts and nearly nonstop blowups, blood and guts, "Navy SEALs" is an effective, adrenaline-injecting summer action flick that will leave you clenching your teeth and hating The Enemy in spite of yourself.

Navy SEALS Workout - Get Fit, Prepare for BUD/S
Navy SEALs are named after the environment in which they operate, the Sea, Air, and Land, and are the foundation of Naval Special Warfare combat forces.
The most important trait that distinguishes Navy SEALs from all other military forces is that SEALs are maritime special forces, as they strike from and return to the sea.
SEALs' proven ability to operate across the spectrum of conflict and in operations other than war in a controlled manner, and their ability to provide real time intelligence and eyes on target, offer decision makers immediate and virtually unlimited options in the face of rapidly changing crises around the world.

ABC News: Navy: Some SEALs Photos for Intelligence
Senior officers at the SEALs headquarters said other photos are "consistent with the use of tactics, techniques and procedures in the apprehension of detainees," Navy Cmdr. Jeff Bender said.
It is unclear who took the pictures, which the Navy began investigating after the AP furnished copies to get comment for a story first published Friday.
Taking photos of prisoners for administrative or intelligence purposes is an exception to Navy regulations that generally forbid unofficial photos of prisoners of war.

SSGN Provides Powerful Tool for Navy SEALs
The SSGN conversion program was designed using the Navy SEAL motto “to equip the man, not man the equipment.” And while the SSGN is bigger than the usual “tool” in the SEAL toolbox, it provides a bigger than usual payoff for the Navys elite warriors.
ABOARD USS FLORIDA (NNS) -- During the nation’s war on terrorism, Navy SEALs (Sea, Air and Land) have been the force of choice for a variety of missions, from direct action in the mountains of Afghanistan to boarding ships in the Arabian Gulf.
In order to support SEALs for a sustained period of time, the SSGNs will also be equipped with additional exercise and cardiovascular equipment and a virtual reality laser weapons range to allow SEALs to maintain their targeting skills and distance vision in the tight confines of the submarine.

 Navy SEALs
Navy SEALs seems to be taking itself so seriously that one has to really wonder what the actors and the director were smoking when they took up this project.
The name SEAL, being that of the US Navy's elite commando unit, is an acronym for SEa, Air, Land, which means that the film has no specific location to base the self-congratulation in, unlike the aforementioned examples.
Essentially, this film's plot (yes, there is one) revolves around a Navy SEAL unit under the command of Lieutenant James Curran (Michael Biehn), which also includes Ensign Dale Hawkins (Charlie Sheen), and a sniper known only as Dane (Bill Paxton).

 US Navy Seals Torturing Iraqis
The U.S. military has launched a criminal investigation into photographs that appear to show Navy SEALs in Iraq sitting on hooded and handcuffed detainees, and photos of what appear to be bloodied prisoners, one with a gun to his head.
In several of the photos obtained by the AP, grinning men wearing U.S. flags on their uniforms, and one with a tattoo of a SEAL trident, take turns sitting or lying atop what appear to be three hooded and handcuffed men in the bed of a pickup truck.

 Amazon.com: DVD: Navy Seals (1990)
Navy SEALs are a top antiterrorist unit that goes anywhere (SEa, Air, or Land) to fight for and protect the American Way of Life.
The SEALs seem to feel that Michael Biehn's depictions as a SEAL in "Navy SEALs" and "The Rock" were very accurate and well done.
Though I don't know how your average Navy SEAL feels about the movie itself; they seem to be very pleased with Michael Biehn's (yay!) portrayal as a Navy SEAL.

 BMN Review: Navy SEALS (1990)
Chuckles whips out his gun, blows the fool away and then utters the line that completely turned my viewing of "Navy Seals" from pure hell to pure enjoyment: "It was a boring conversation anyway...
oy oh boy, I now know why Kevin Smith opted to choose this film (while writing his film "Clerks") as being "the most intellectually devoid film on the rack." NAVY SEALS, the 1990 action flick starring pretty boy Charlie Sheen and fellow pretty boy Michael Biehn, is your typical let's-go-get-the-bad-guys-with-our-big-guns movie.
Navy Seals is highly recommended as a "BM Night" action flick.

Burnt Orange Report - Navy SEALS
The Navy SEALs have launched a criminal investigation into photographs that appear to show commandos in Iraq sitting on hooded and handcuffed detainees, and photos of what appear to be bloodied prisoners, one with a gun to his head.
There must be something else, something more for the Navy to investigate this.
Some of the photos have date stamps suggesting that they were taken in May 2003, which could make them the earliest evidence of possible abuse of prisoners in Iraq.
