The Standards for Efficient Cryptography Group (SECG), an industry consortium, was founded in 1998 to develop commercial standards that facilitate the adoption of efficient cryptography and interoperability across a wide range of computing platforms.
SECG members include leading technology companies and key industry players in the information security industry.
A general meeting of the SECG will be held on 16 November 2006 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto Canada from 1PM - 5PM.

JOT: Journal of Object Technology - SECG: The SCOOP-to-Eiffel Code Generator, Paige, Fuks, Ostroff
SECG differs from Compton’s implementation in that it does not rely on changes to a compiler (it translates SCOOP code into pure Eiffel) or a run-time system; thus, it can in theory be used with any version of Eiffel that provides an implementation of the THREAD class which conforms to ISE’s specification.
SECG must carry out several tasks in translating this class: it must implement mutexes for separate entities, add inheritance clauses for the separate class, and translate the separate arguments in make.
Because SECG is a pre-processor, and because it implements separate classes and entities in terms of THREADs, instead of modifying the underlying run-time system, it should not be affected by changes to the Eiffel language, e.g., additions of new constructs.

The translocase itself comprises 7 proteins, including a chaperone protein (SecB), an ATPase (SecA), an integral membrane complex (SecCY, SecE and SecG), and two additional membrane proteins that promote the release of the mature peptide into the periplasm (SecD and SecF) PUBMED:2202721.
Together with SecY and SecG, SecE forms a multimeric channel through which preproteins are translocated, using both proton motive forces and ATP-driven secretion.
SecG has two transmembrane domains, both of which contribute to the recognition of preprotein signal sequences by the translocation complex PUBMED:7650029.

Certicom | ECC | What is SECG?
The SECG represents the first working group that is devoted exclusively to developing standards based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC).
Where standards already exist, SECG may promote a refined, peer-reviewed profile of the broader standard to promote adoption and interoperability.
The SECG also provides guidance to governments and organizations that are developing cryptographic standards.

secg - standards for efficient cryptography group
The SECG's charter is to develop the Standards for Efficient Cryptography (SEC), a family of commercial standards that will specify the basis for creating security solutions across a wide range of computing platforms that are completely interoperable, easily implemented, and cost-effective.
A3: Messages for the SECG membership may be posted to secg-talk@lists.certicom.com where they will be reflected to the group.
The SECG was formed because its founding members recognized the need for interoperable implementations of ECC and shared a common vision to fulfil it.

Using the B. subtilis secG gene as probe a hybridizing DNA-fragment of S. carnosus was identified and subsequently cloned.
The characterisation of a secG replacement mutant of B. subtilis (RMG), in which the B. subtilis secG gene is chromosomally replaced by secG of S. carnosus showed that the S. carnosus SecG protein optimally interacts with the remaining translocase subunits of B. subtilis.
In contrast to the S. carnosus SecG, introduction of the S. carnosus SecY protein into the RMA abolished the cold sensitive phenotype and the selective discrimination of the heterologous OmpA precursor from protein export.
