Sky's net profit rose to $NZ35.3 million net profit in the year to June 30, 2004, from $NZ700,000 previously, as it cut costs and subscriber numbers reached record levels thanks to the introduction of new entertainment channels.
Sky chief executive John Fellet said subscriber numbers were expected to increase by about 35,000 this year, after rising by 33,711 in 2003/04.
Sky would not provide guidance for its 2004/05 result as it expected financial projections to be detailed during the merger process with INL.
