		The original SMOT design had the arrays parallel, but tilted so that the left end was lower than the right end, compared to the track.
		The important feature is that the field experienced by the ball be increasingly greater as it moves from A to B. The non-ferrous track is necessary to prevent the ball from being attracted to and moving toward one or the other of the magnet arrays.

		If a SMOT is laid flat on the ground, the ball will roll through the magnets, come to a stop, and probably roll back (and forth) depending on the strength of the magnets and the surface it is placed on.

		I know that Watson at some point sold SMOT kits, there was talk on Vortex labs of him selling closed loop SMOTs but I suspect that their delicate fine tuned nature prevented them from being shipped whole or as kits.
		However, the full plans for all the SMOT versions are available free from JLN labs, but long periods of 'tuning' might be required should you wish to undertake a closed loop version.
		The reason why the SMOT is not easy to link let alone loop is because the ball is required to drop from the top of the ramp under gravity onto a track that is HIGHER than the entrance of the ramp.

		(The SMOT works because the magnetic force is greater when the magnets are closer to the steel ball, and since the net force is towards the top of the ramp, the motion of the ball is also that direction, making the ball move up the track.
		It seems that as the ball passes the end of the SMOT the pull of the magnets on the ball as it clears the gate are enough to remove 95% of any momentum gained on the ramp.

		I seriously doubt that SMOTS are really over unity, but I don't doubt that we just don't see the whole picture, and you can't learn anything new without experiments.
		This is possible and links in nicely to some physical observations where energy is given to materials by magnetism, physicists say that the energy comes from the complexity of the crystaline structure of the magnets and could be a candidate for electrodynamic energy exchange.
		Greg Watson, the man who reserected the SMOT from the Haratman patent, has experamented for many years with these devices and he claims that when a SMOT is in constant use the magnets decrease in temperature.

		Like the SMOT there are NO coils, but unlike the SMOT, the device is based on a moving magnet and linked stationary DMEC Flux Gates which will allow true rotary motion.
