		SMP systems allow any processor to work on any task no matter where the data for that task is located in memory; with proper operating system support, SMP systems can easily move tasks between processors to balance the workload efficiently.
		SMP makes this worse, as only one processor can access memory at a time; it is possible for several processors to be starved.
		SMP is only one style of multiprocessor machine; others include NUMA which dedicates different memory banks to different processors.
