		SMPTE time code is a digital signal whose ones and zeroes assign a number to every frame of video, representing hours, minutes, seconds, frames, and some additional user/specified information such as tape number.
		Longitudinal time code (LTC) is recorded along the length of the tape in the form of a modulated audio signal.

		One of the main differences between SMPTE time code and absolute signals is that time code is used for synchronization between different types or brands of machines, and absolute is for use with that same brand machines.
