  SNES mouse on a PC
The SNES mouse communicates with the SNES in the same way controllers do, but the SNES reads 32 bits instead of reading only 16 bits.
The interface for connecting the mouse to the parallel port is identical to the snes controller interface.
Using the mouse in X: If you want to use the mouse for normal work under the X window system, you may want to adjust acceleration to compensate for the low report rate of this mouse (remember, it was designed for a console with a low display resolution).

The SNES is also the predecessor to the Nintendo 64 (N64), a 64 bit system, which was released in July 1996, and is Nintendo's flagship system today.
This is the jack often used to connect the SNES to a TV using the RCA output cable that came with the SNES, as well as the S-Video cable.
The SNES was later sold, about a year and a half after its release, as a bare bones set, the "Power Set", as Nintendo called it, with only the control deck, one controller, RF cable, stereo A/V cable (I believe), and manual; no game.

Snes: SNES Mouse On A Computer - Kotaku
Canadian programmer Raphael figured out how to get extra use outta that Nintendo produced a mouse for the SNES.
He made a table that explains what each bit of the mouse controller does, included an interface schematic and a patch for anyone with a SNES mouse and free time.
Since I have a major adversion to cutting up old hardware I was thinking about making a reproduction, but gave up that idea.

SNES ROM images come in lots of different formats, depending on the copier device that was originally used to create the image amongst other things, and sometimes Snes9x has trouble auto-detecting the exact ROM format.
If you want the SNES image to fill your computer screen and want maximum speed, use the 3dfx bi-linear option if you have a Voodoo 3dfx card, or select output image mode as none and check the full-screen and stretch image options.

On the SNES, at least until the invention of the SNES Mouse, games such as Sim City, Civilization, and Sim City 2000 forced the user to navigate with the D-Pad and buttons.
SNES Civilization and Sim City 2000 did have use of the mouse, but with it, the games lagged along quite slowly as it wasn’t implemented well.
Again, on the systems these games have appeared, either a mouse had not been designed for it, or were sold in such low numbers most never got a hold of one.

The only squabble is with the painting area, it's difficult to make a straight line (or stay in the lines) with the mouse, so it could get frustrating at times.
Nintendo's attempt at application software is a nice thing to see, however, it falls short in playability and usability due to the fact that the SNES is not a practical platform for this type of software.

I realise there is an SNES emulator already available for the GBA, though it is riddled with bugs and does not produce sound.
Now we have the topic of the Nintendo DS with SNES emulation, my prediction is that it will be able to emulate it pretty darn well and play most games with sound.
With the two screen idea for the snes emulator, it will only be mirroring an image, one smaller than the other, in theory there shouldn't be a problem with doing that.
