SS Great Britain was the first ocean-going ship to have an iron hull and a screw propeller and, when launched in 1843, was the largest vessel afloat.
The SS Great Britain was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Thomas Guppy, Christopher Claxton and William Patterson for the Great Western Steamship Company and built in a specially adapted dry dock at Bristol.
The SS America was an ocean liner built in 1940 for the United States Lines.

SS Sołdek was the Polish ship - coal and ore freighter.
She was the first ship built in Poland after the World War II (and the first sea-going ship completed in Poland as well).
The ship is currently preserved as a museum ship in Gdańsk.

It was the first of 29 ships B30 type, built in 1949 - 1954 in "Stocznia Gdańska" shipyard.
