 STS-63 Patch
The six points on the rising sun and the three stars are symbolic of the mission's Space Transportation System (STS) numerical designation.
Visible in the Orbiter's payload bay are the commercial space laboratory Spacehab and the Shuttle Pointed Autonomous Research Tool for Astronomy (SPARTAN) satellite which are major payloads on the flight.

STS-63 was the third space flight for the Commander and Mission Specialist 2, the second space flight for the Payload Commander (Mission Specialist 1) and Mission Specialist 3, the first space flight for the Pilot and the first Space Shuttle flight for Mission Specialist 4.
Flight rules for STS-63 stated that if low-Z redundancy were lost, the Shuttle would not approach the Mir within 1000 ft, and no venting would be allowed within 40 nmi.
In addition to the OV-103 Orbiter vehicle, the flight vehicle consisted of an ET that was designated ET-68; three SSMEs that were designated 2035, 2109, and 2029 in positions 1, 2, and 3 respectively; and two SRBs that were designated Bl-070.

On left front for woman's or right front for man's, pick up 63 (65, 68) sts along straight front edge (about 4 sts for every 5 rws), 40 (42, 43) sts along v-neck edge (about 4 sts for every 5 rws), and 1/2 of back neck edge sts (one for one).
Whenever there are five sts in work on the edges, create a new mock rib column by transferring the appropriate stitch to an adjacent needle and take empty needle out of work.
Counting from the bottom edge of the sweater, reform sts on needles 4 (4, 4), 16 (16, 16), 28 (28, 30), 40 (40, 42), 52 (52, 56) and 62 (64, 68).
