 | | The majority of the rifles bore no evidence of any under lying Russian markings, so I assume that the majority of the NDM 86 rifles were actually produced by the Chinese at the triangle-26 factory. |
 | | The SVD uses a short stroke gas piston & was/is designed to utilize a special round, the Soviet 7N1 & the newer variant (which I believe) is the 7N14, the SVD is a machined receiver versus the stamped receiver of the PSL's. |
 | | If the rifles are fired w/proper ammo in their designed form (no firing pin spring) they are as safe as any other, many years ago I bought an M1A, I believe it was an Armscorp receiver, there was a tag affixed to rifle in red & white that said "Danger, use only military grade ammunition". |
