	nV News Forums - Another B&W TV-OUT SVIDEO
		My TV has both SVIDEO and composite inputs on the back (Input 1) and composite inputs on the front (Input 2).
		The TV detects when an SVIDEO cable is attached to Input 1 and automatically disables the rear composite video jack.
		For what it's worth, using your.conf file I can get both composite and svideo with just changing the string and restarting X. So, your conf is fine, your cable is fine, your TV is fine...kinda only leaves the card itself so long as it's installed okay.

		I had lost the svideo to rca converter that came with the card and bought this as a replacement thinking the svideo cable would work(since the book says you can use your own svid cable).

		I'm not familiar with your TV set.....are you using a proper svideo in port or a scart converter?
		As an aside, using windows to check s-video output is not always perfect...some apps will continue to pump composite even though you tell them to use s-video.
		After close examination and a bit of playing around I've found that the critical setting for the TwinView was the Vertical refresh...I had followed instinct and advice and set it to a PAL compliant 50.

		Iwas wondering if there is something related to how a svideo signal is sent or something that may cause the monochrome pic.
		Like I stated earlier, my camcorder work in color on all of the svideo jacks, dvd on the front video jacks but not the 2 in back, and the dishnetwork receiver I just hooked up for fun to the svideo jack in front was an old 7100 dishplayer.
		I would think that the tv was totally screwy if my camcorder didn;'t give color from all of the svideo positions, but nothing else seems to work.

		When I capture to mp2 format using SVideo-In as the source, I get a great capture, but the audio is from the TV Tuner.
		When I simply play an SVideo source, I get video and audio from the SVideo in, so seems that a capture should work correctly.
		But regardless, when capturing, no matter what the source, composite, svideo, tv, the audio is always from the TV.

		Basically it has svideo and 2 phonos for the sound on one end and scart on the other (the scart is pinned for svideo and this is what AV2 is expecting).
		Svideo is tuner controlled (PAL or NTSC) and therefore brightness can be changed, RGB usually cannot be as it bypasses the tuner and goes straight to the crt guns.

		I want to connect my cable box composite output by connecting it first to this coupler http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLGandproduct%5Fid=274-873, and then conect this coupler's other end to this converter http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLGandproduct%5Fid=15-1238 so that the signal from my cable box to my winttv-pvr 150 is converted to Svideo and finally connected to my pvr's svideo input.
		I just one to get an Svideo signal from my cable box to my PVR without losing or degrading any quality.

		I would use a wired connection although 40 feed is a big distance to connect your TV using composite or svideo cable, so you should buy good quality cable.
		The TV in my bedroom is connected using 33 feet composite cable and the pq is not as good as in the living room (older TV, longer cable, composite) but very acceptable.
		My TV out card has svideo and composite out and can be used simultaneously.

		Well, I just got an Svideo to composite adaptor from a friend who got it from his MSI Nvidia video card.
		I called ATI and they said it's my Svideo adaptor, and that some do that for whatever reason.
		In case you don't have this item and plugged the svideo to composite adapter directly into the card tv-out, then it must be some incompatibilities in pin assignments.

		After lots of searching I'm still stumped about a problem I'm having trying to use both the DVI output for 720p output and the SVideo output for 480i output to my Sony KV40XBR800 4:3 HDTV.
		The 6600 is configured so that the primary display is the HDMI/DVI connection at 720p, and the secondary display is the SVideo connection.
		My hope was that I could simply switch the TV's video inputs between HDMI/DVI (for HiDef stuff and widescreen DVDs), and use the SVideo input to watch standard definition 4:3 TV and DVDs.
