Saab Automobile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some of the early cars such as the two-strokers, V4s and Saab 99 were quite successful in rally sport, notably the 96 in the 1960s RAC Rally and Monte Carlo Rally, driven by Erik Carlsson.
Saab cars are also subjected to the moose test.

The Saab 9-7X SUV is manufactured in the United States.
All modern Saabs (except the 9000 and 9-2X) have the ignition key hole located behind the transmission selector lever - which Saab believes is a safer position in case of an accident.
Originally the key was located to the right of the steering wheel, but when SAAB changed from a column shifter to a floor shifter, the ignition key followed along (except in the Sonett III).

Saab Central - Features: 'Motor' Road Test September 1984 - Saab 900 Turbo 16S
The Turbo 16 represents the third evolutionary phase of Saab's H-type Turbo engine development, but with a new double overhead camshaft, 16-valve cylinder head, together with an intercooler and existing APC system, the result is a quantum increase in power, to take the 900 into BMW 528i and Rover Vitesse territory.
Saab proudly refers to the 16S's engine as being its "third-generation turbo engine", but its power characteristics not ultimate power output remain inferior to those of a larger naturally aspirated engine.
The Saab is penalised through the poor traction and much violent shuddering when subjected to the necessarily abusive techniques used to record standing start acceleration times.

In 1960 the Saab 93f was being replaced by the Saab 96 and a new 750 cc engine was developed.
The competition and testing departments of Saab did not want to see any series produced sports engines with the new size until they had the chance to try some new ideas.
The design was (of course) advanced, instead of using a spaceframe chassis like the others Saab chose to construct an advanced monocoque car.

But the Quantum IVs that were ultimately produced for public consumption were actual race car kits, to which buyers could transplant the 2-stroke powerplant out of their 93s, 95s and 96s.

The language of LSD trips can resemble the language of the older quantum physics, involving white light and dancing particles, but new reports in physics journals use terms which are much closer to 'the language of ketamine'.
Nevertheless, research with this substance is proceeding in several countries and may eventually lead to the development of a 'quantum psychiatry', just as Freudian psychiatry, which saw psychic energy as a head of steam in the mind, took its cue from Newton's mechanical outlook 100 years earlier.
