The Sabanci University Sakıp Sabancı Museum is a private fine arts museum in Istanbul, Turkey, dedicated to calligraphic art, religious and state documents, as well as paintings of the Ottoman era.
The mansion was leased in 1998 for a period of 49 years to Sabancı University along with all the antique furnishings and art collections.
In 1951 Hacı Ömer Sabancı, father of Sakıp Sabancı and founder of Sabanci Group, purchased the mansion for spending summer months with his family.

Sabanci University is a private institution, founded with a Dollars 210m (Euros 156m, Pounds 108m) investment from the billionaire Sabanci family, which owns one of Turkey's two largest conglomerates.
Following their lead, state universities are beginning to broaden their curricula and discuss taboo subjects, breaking free from the censorship that lingered long after the army crushed university dissent following a military coup in 1980.
