She discussed the gizzard in Cephalaspidea, kleptoplasty in Sacoglossa, kleptocnides in Aeolidoidea, symbiosis with unicellular algae in Phyllodesmium Ehrenberg, 1831 and mantle dermal formations in Chromodorididae.
Sacoglossa in general feed on algae by piercing the cells with their tooth and sucking out the contents of the cell.
Cimino et al., by analysing the different compounds and their origin, came to the conclusion that evolution within the Sacoglossa started with the uptake and storage of sesquiterpenoids from algae in species still having a shell [7].

 Order Sacoglossa
The scientific name of this group, Sacoglossa, means "shield tongue." This group possesses a unique anatomical feature, a sack-like structure in the alimentary canal which retains discarded radular teeth.
The radulae in this order are connected in a chain-like fashion and revolve into position for use.
The radula are used to puncture the cell wall of the food item, and once the wall is punctured, the animal can suck out the internal cellular material.

A study on distribution patterns among gastropods in the North Sea is near completion (J. Knudsen).
Studies on the systematics, phylogeny and evolution of the opisthobranch group Sacoglossa mainly based on material collected during international marine biology workshops have led to a cladistic analysis to generic level, with several proposed changes in the classification*.
Several species of the opisthobranch family Diaphanidae have been described anatomically, and the proposed position of the family as sister group of the Sacoglossa discussed* (K. Jensen).

Cylindrobulloidea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A recent systematic review by Paula Mikkelsen (1998) has shown that Cylindrobulla actually belongs in the suborder Sacoglossa, where it forms a monophyletic group Oxynoacea with the shelled sacoglossans because of the agreement in digestive, sexual, pallial (= concerning the mantle), and nervous system characteristics.

 Veröffentlichungen von Gerhard Haszprunar
The microanatomy and ultrastructure of the excretory system of the Sacoglossa have been investigated from two species by means of semithin serial sections, reconstructions, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
Solitary rhogocytes (pore cells), the fine-structure of which strongly resembles podocytes (meandering slits with diaphragms covered by extracellular matrix) occur in Bosellia mimetica and Alderia modesta, representing additional loci of ultrafiltration.
The presence of podocytes situated in the epicardial wall of the auricle is regarded as plesiomorphic for the Mollusca and confirmed for the Sacoglossa in this study, contradicting elder assumptions of the loss of the primary site of ultrafiltration in the ancestors of the Opisthobranchia.
