		Judaism teaches that the true transmitters of the Torah from Moses at Sinai were the Pharisees, and, indeed, Judaism throughout the last two millenia is based on the Pharasaic teachers of the Talmud, believers and upholders of the written and oral Torah.
		The Sadduccees were of the high priestly family -- they were the "aristocrats." They had an evil alliance with Rome, and they purchased their "high priesthoods" from Rome, in opposition to Torah Law which decrees that the high priesthood is given to one person until his death.
		In order to hone in on the status of the Christian Jews among all other Jews of their time, it is important to know their enemies and their friends, and the bases upon which one identified as either an enemy or a friend.

		What we might agree on today as being the "timeless true Christianity" might not be the same one others would call the "timeless true Christianity" and that is the point here, isn't it?
		I don't see any real solid evidence against my position that the ways of the Sadduccees and the Pharisees can be easily compared to modern biblical literalists.
		I know most Fundamentalists and Evangelicals as well as the Holiness and Pentacostals accept that Jesus was against the teachings of the Sadduccees and Pharisees and for what they claimed to be truth; but, aren't their teachings also based on literal understandings of the written word?
