| | City Provides 'Safe Havens' for Kids |
 | | Kampaign Kidz -- a citywide child-safe-ty partnership that includes S.F. SAFE (Safety Awareness For Everyone), the San Francisco police and fire departments, the Department of Parking and Traffic, the Rec and Park Department, and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors -- is celebrating its Safe Haven program on Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. |
 | | Since 1999, Kampaign Kidz has been working to provide safe havens for children who "may find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation," says Diane Rose, director of the program, which is funded through the Mayor's Office of Children, Youth, and Families. |
 | | Currently, 270 "Safe Havens" are located at social service agencies around the city, including at every police and fire station in San Francisco. |
