The latest Safedisc 2 update is now preventing the game to run if Clone CD, Alcohol 120%, or Daemon Tools are installed, even if the correct CD is installed in the CD-Rom drive (this may not be a problem with the latest version of Daemon Tools).
Safedisc 2 is not searching for modified or pirated versions of the game, it is only looking for the tools that may be used for copying the game.
Issues with Safedisc copy protection and Daemon Tools has been known previously and it appears Macrovision has not gone out of their way to address this incompatibility.

Ive spent a lot of time trying to back up games...and a lot of it is trial aand error...especially Safedisc because it is burner dependent.
But technically, you are not removing the encryption off a SafeDisc game...If your burner can burn the Bad Sectors, you still have an encrypred disc.

The latest SafeDisc 2 versions (2.51.xx) cannot be copied by a lot of recorders.

Further research illuminated the fact that SafeDisc 4.6 is so paranoid about piracy, it fllists all SCSI optical drives in the hope that this will eliminate most image mounting / CD emulation tools.

Not too many burners on the market that can make a true 1:1 backup of Safedisc 4.0 Post he brand name of your burner and I can tell you whether you can make a 1:1 backup that will play in a cd/dvd-rom.
You will always encounter disc read errors when reading any image that is Safedisc cd protected but this is common.
There "might" be a work around but until they sell pc dvd-rom games in my hometown, it would be unfair for me to say what and what not will work.
