		Radio Sagarmatha FM -- the first community-based radio station in South Asia -- resumed its transmission Tuesday afternoon within hours of the Supreme Court verdict to the government not to implement its decision to stop the transmission of the pioneer public radio.
		In response to a writ petition filed by Radio Sagarmatha FM challenging the government's decision, a single bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Badri Kumar Basnet ordered the government not to implement its order until the next hearing due on December 7.
		Justice Basnet has also ordered defendants to be present during the hearings on whether an interim order be issued as demanded by the petitioner, Radio Sagarmatha FM Rights groups have hailed the court decision and have asked the government not to pursue any activities to undermine independent press in the country.
