Sage (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Xavier sensed that Sage was a mutant, and told her that she was one and what being a mutant meant.
Sage helped Xavier and tried to get him to a hospital but during their journey down the mountains they happened across a United Nations relief convoy that was attacked by robbers, who raped and killed the UN workers.
Sage's mutant power is the ability to sense the mutant potential in others, and bring it into being under the proper circumstances, and to advance existing mutants into the next level of their power.

Mysterious Suspense #1 Millennium Edition Review - Silver Bullet Comics
Sage refuses to accept sponsorship from Ord, which causes Ord to orchestrate with Kroe a smear campaign against Sage.
Not that Sage and his supporting cast are very interesting; all the characters are mouthpieces for Ditko's point of view, they discuss things in Ditkovian terms rather than speak in dialogue regular humans would speak.
Sage himself is appropriately noble, and folks like Ord and Kroe are appropriately evil, but the whole conflict feels very staid and cliched.

Tropical sage, whose scientific or botanical name is Salvia coccinea, has attractive, bright red spikes of tubular, two-lopped flowers that bloom from March until the first frost of late fall.
Gardeners covet tropical sage because it produces nectar that attracts hummingbirds and the larger butterfly species with a tongue (proboscis) long enough to reach the sweet food.
Available from smaller nurseries, tropical sage is a welcome addition to any wildflower, butterfly or xeric garden.

 DC Comics, the Sage Continues!
At any rate, during this time period, DC Comics tried to compete with the more successful Marvel Comics, by dramatically increasing their output of characters.
They decided to follow the examples of Atlas/Seaboard Comics and such independent companies as Eclipse Comics, and began to offer more concrete financial rewards to their staffers, such as royalties.
The resulting influx of sophisticated horror and dark fantasy material led not only to DC abandoning the Comics Code for particular titles by those talents, but also to the later establishment in 1993 of the Vertigo imprint for mature readers.

Some things that may need editing are panels, shading, text, coloring, etc. This is going to be a small test so we know what each person is good at according to comics.
Another thing I was thinking of was giving everyone a number of days to come up with some kind of comic and then turn it in to us so we can determine what they are good at.

I was invited by English Department head (and good friend) David A. Salomon to speak about graphic novels and comics in general, as well as some specific strategies for reading comics and Persepolis in specific.
The instructors - a mix of faculty, staff, and post-first-year students - were looking for a bit of guidance on how to talk about a comics text in a classroom setting, especially to groups of brand-new college students.
We had a lively question-and-answer session, where discussion ranged from broad topics like "why comics in the first place?" to parallels with and differences between Persepolis and the other text the new first-year students had read for the course, Firoozeh Dumas' Funny in Farsi.

The religion of The Question (Vic Sage)
Many is the time a writer has used a lesser-known character as a mouthpiece for his own opinions.
The Question was the basis for the more fanatical Rorschach in Alan Moore's Watchmen, a book known to have influenced Miller, and Rorschach, in his moral views and manner of speaking, seems to have inspired Miller's Question.
Given both his Objectivist foundation and his Zen leanings, I would think Vic Sage would be (henceforth "critical") open to the idea of God or higher powers, but ultimately assert without ire or bile that more evidence is needed to establish both their existence and relevance.
