The main goal of SAGE is to advance system administration as a profession.
SAGE brings together system and network administrators to foster professional and technical development, share problems and solutions, and communicate with users, management, and vendors on system administration topics.
Annual SAGE membership is $25 (you must also be a member of USENIX).

 SAGE - Mentor Program Guidelines
It has become clear that system administrators (SAs) have a profession that is extremely complex and encompassing both on-the-job experience and technical knowledge.
That method is the old tradition of apprenticing trainees to knowledgeable and experienced mentors to allow new trainees to receive both the technical and work experience knowledge appropriate to their profession.
The SAGE Mentor pilot project is a 1-year special program that is designed to establish a permanent mentoring program for SAGE.
