 La Folia -- The Fourth Annual Vision Festival
The Vision Festival program states that it "is poised to take the disparate strands of the world’s improvising communities and weave them together..." The majority of the performances were music: jazz/improvisation, but more than any other arts festival of its kind, it featured painting, sculpture, dance, and poetry on stage in tandem with the music.
The visual arts component of the festival was called TuRf, and highlights were a sculpture with a bassist and dancer, and painter Jeff Schlanger, who has trademarked himself Music Witness, making live paintings of each performance as it was happening, himself an improviser of colors and action.
This was a festival with a mission of bringing together the various arts, often in collaboration.

The STockholm pub Oliver Twist held a small US microbrew festival, where both draught and bottled beers from a couple of interesting brewries were served.
The the top score from this festival was a three way tie, where the one beer from Flying Dog in Colorado had to share the podium with two beers from Rogue, Oregon.
The festival had an excellent assortment of beers from small German breweries, but the imports consisted mostly of dull macrobrews, and presumably fake imports from Haus der 131 Biere.

One of the most imaginative and compelling two piano teams around, Pierce and Jonas have been successfully performing and recording the unusual and neglected two-piano repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries since the mid-1980's.
On October 19, 1997 Pierce and Jonas gave the world premier performance of the Concerto for Two Pianos & Orchestra (1996) which was composed for Pierce/Jonas by William Thomas McKinley, with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Valek in Smetna Hall, Prague.
Jonas presented a unique and exciting series of performances at CAMI Hall, New York University and at MicroFest Trenton, NJ as part of the American Festival of MicroTonal Music® performance seasons.

As a composer, Chris Jonas has written for a number of formats, working between the worlds of 20th century European classical music and improvisation/jazz.
