Mary Francis Ahern was born March 14, 1923 in Dubuque, the daughter of Nicholas and Henrietta (Koempel) Thoma [sic].
She is survived by five children: Mary Therese Ahern of Dubuque, Barbara Ann LeGrand of Platteville, WI, Susan Catherine Kratz of Iowa City, Mark Joseph of Cresco, and Paul Francis of Marengo; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vergil; her parents; three sisters: Sylvia DeLire, Florence Vincent, and Sister Harrietta Thoma, BVM; and two brothers: Paul and George.
