Saint Regis University is fully accredited and recognized by numerous employers as it should be.
SRU is definitely not accredited by the same accreditation body as GWU, however, they are affiliated with the same organization (National Academy for Higher Education) and has the same standards.
To you, an SRU graduate would definitely not be a "threat" and would not be able to steal a job away from someone with a REAL degree, because you would consider them as not having had a "traditional" form of education (classroom).

Half the "degrees" sold by Saint Regis University and other diploma mills were sold to overseas purchasers, a majority of which were for "students" from Saudi Arabia, the documents say.
The Liberian Embassy official demanded the bribes in exchange for lining up "accreditation" for Saint Regis University and other diploma mills and for arranging payments of $50 to $100 a month to Liberian educators who would pose as "faculty members" for the online universities.
Within a month, the operators of the bogus online university, believed to be based in Spokane, responded by e-mail, telling Syed he could purchase college degrees in chemistry and environmental engineering for $1,277.

University Business recently published an article discussing the benefits of online educational programs to universities.
The article pointed out the many benefits beyond the increase in tuition dollars including increased enrollments and classroom diversity, ability to provide a service to the community that might be limited by distance, and some of the more intangible benefits of online learning such as the preparation of students for a technology driven world.
When I attended La Salle University, I had at least one class every year populated by an adult student, and there was actually a woman in her seventies in one of my classes.
