I believe that Saint Vitus got a musical vasectomy when original vocalist Scott Reagers left the band; his unique voice added charisma and life to even the slowest and sludgiest songs of SV's earlier albums.
With that in mind, it's not at all surprising that Scott Reagers returned in 1994 for "Die Healing", which was much better than all of the previous Weinrich/Linderson-era albums combined, but it turned out to be their final album, and they disbanded for good in 1995.
