		Amy's husband Scott, an engineer who is a master at computers and all things musical, built a studio in the basement of their house and explained it was for her to record the cd.

		All three of the "Basie Jam" records are huge fun, especially the first one, and his "Basie and Zoot" with Zoot Sims on horn is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest jazz records ever.
		This is late Ellington fer sure and the 1963 recording is oddly miked, but the band, most of whom were in their fifties and sixties (!), play like teenagers and the audience was clearly a real tonic.
		Of course, the original Scott recordings are cool, but according to the liner notes from a recent Stash CD, his estate is no longer making available the hundreds of airchecks he had professionally made (Scott was a recording freak).

		Start-ups argue that the Recording Industry Association of America refuses to grant them licenses, while the association counters that the businesses are simply unwilling to pay for them.

		Write to your senators and congressmen and let them know you are offended, intimidated and/or totally pissed off about the way our freedoms (particularly privacy) are being sacrificed for the profit of the label owners.
		Tell everyone you know about the way the labels are abusing their power in order to totally dominate the market for recorded music.

		I still buy used classical albums for example, from major record labels, but it's used so it doesn't matter.
		Of course on occasion some good music get released a major, although their never see a penny from me for it.
		By supporting independent artists, labels and record shops i know that i'm making a real difference economically rather than just lining the pockets of money-hungry corporations.
