At the direction of the Commanding Officer, 468th CIC Det. Yuhichi SAKAMOTO, former captain of the Japanese Army and director of Prisoner of War Camp #9 at Miyata Machi, Kurate Gun, was apprehended on 25 October 1945 for interrogation regarding his alleged mistreatment of Allied Prisoners of War.
SAKAMOTO claimed that he handled the prisoners in a fatherly way, reprimanding and punishing them as a father does a child -- to prevent a recurrence of the wrongdoing and as an example to the other prisoners.

In any event, Sakamoto (who was born and raised in Chiba) started studying Chito-Ryu karate in the Self Defence forces and was introduced to O-Sensei.

According to the Sakamoto Ayu News published by the village fisherman’s union, until Arase was completed in 1955 about 1200 fisherman from Sakamoto and Yatsushiro made their living along the river.
Despite the number of meetings held by the prefecture in Sakamoto and Yatsushiro, voices in favor of dam renewal from inside and outside the villages continued to be raised.
This remains the question, and the dam removal should become a model for the rest of the country not as an opposition movement but as an example of local populations becoming knowledgeable about the dams in their locale.

The top finishers of these district ekidens qualified for the national ekiden championship, which is scheduled on the second Sunday of December in Gifu, the hometown of the defending Olympic marathon champion, Naoko Takahashi.

We have Kumamoto Castle of 16 the century in our town of Kumamoto, and also we still have traditional houses which preserve the Japanese life style from the time of feudal system.
