Sally's musical career started in 1968 when she founded the folk duo "Sallyangie" together with brother Mike.
After spending her childhood partly in Dublin and partly in Reading, Berkshire, Sally joined the Royal Academy of Dancing at the age of 12 to study ballet dancing.

Mike Oldfield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oldfield's most famous work is Tubular Bells, an instrumental composition recorded in 1972 and launched on May 25, 1973 as the inaugural album of Richard Branson's Virgin Records label.
His sister Sally and brother Terry are successful musicians in their own right and have appeared on several of his albums.
Oldfield's rebellious response was Amarok, an hour-long work featuring rapidly changing themes (supposedly devised to make cutting a single from the album impossible), unpredictable bursts of noise, and a very cleverly-hidden Morse code insult directed at Richard Branson.

Sally Oldfield's voice is like a finely tuned instrument, she can reach high notes as well as the deeper.
Sally's unique and beautiful vocals are combined with intricate harmonies, passionate bass rhythms, earthly percussion, and divine keyboards to create a contemporary album of such power that it leaves the listener craving to hear it again and again.
A guitar features but it is played gently with Sally's voice showing a softer style as she sings about this lovely bird, which I think from the lyrics, might be a phoenix.

 Mike Oldfield
Mike Oldfield developed an interest in the guitar at a very young age, and by the age of ten was already formulating his own compositions for the instrument.
After a short-lived band of his own, Oldfield joined up with Kevin Ayers, who was in the midst of getting a solo career underway after exiting from Soft Machine; with Ayers he would record two albums and tour extensively, establishing a solid reputation as a musician of considerable skill.
After assembling a rough demo of his piece (on which he performed all of the various instrumental roles himself) Oldfield began to shop the project around to record executives; it hardly fit into their notions of commercial viability, and was therefore repeatedly rejected despite the quality of the music.

RollingStone.com: Mike Oldfield Music, Biography, Influences, Followers, Related Projects, Contemporaries
Though something of a historical footnote to the American rock audience, Mike Oldfield is a veteran who continues to appeal to a large sector of listeners in his native Britain, more than 30 years after his debut solo album.
Oldfield has celebrated the title with a 1975 orchestral version, as well as Tubular Bells II (1992), Tubular Bells III (1998) and Tubular Bells 2003.
Though doubtless considered more a purveyor of lifestyle music than a progressive artist at this point in his career, Oldfield has remained prolific and is looked upon as something of a forerunner of a wide variety of artists.

Sally Oldfield's new CD, FLAMING STAR, has other-world sensibilities; the music swirls in and out and about, with chants echoing alternately from speakers over a counterpoint of pyrotechnic rhythms and Oldfield's voice double tracked.
The interviewer, accordingly, is unprepared -- and deeply, deeply charmed -- by Oldfield's very down- to- earth warmth when he makes a connection with her transatlantically by telephone early in September.
