  Oberndorf bei Salzburg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oberndorf bei Salzburg is an Austrian town, some 17 km north of Salzburg.
It is situated on the river Salzach in the Flachgau district.
The town was split in two in the wake of the Napoleonic Wars when the Principality of the Salzburg Archbishops was divided in 1816 following the Congress of Vienna into a part taken by the Kingdom of Bavaria and a part taken by the Austrian Empire.

More 3 day problems, a 5 day maneuver, a parade in Salzburg immediately followed by an 8 day maneuver, Exercise Rebound, in the hills and valleys of the Salzkammergut lake region; and suddenly in the middle of June we found ourselves back in Germany for our third trip to Grafenwohr.
This was a fast-moving maneuver in which we overcame heavy snow storms and bitter cold crossing the Salzach River near Laufen and driving the enemy back into the mountains near Siegsdorf, Germany.
