Samuel Hui - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Samuel Koon-kit Hui (許冠傑, Jyutping: heoi2 gun3 git6; pinyin: Xǔ Guànjié; born September 4, 1948), usually known as Sam Hui, was a star in Cantopop and movie industry in Hong Kong's 1960s to 1990s.
On a personal note, he was more closer to elder brother Ricky Hui as opposed to Michael Hui as they were said to have parted in high dudgeon since falling out with each other after their pre-1985 successes and have thereafter not featured together in any more films.
Sam also collaborated with several popular singers like Leslie Cheung both musically and on the silver screen culminating in the hit single co-written by both Sam and Leslie Cheung titled 沉默是金 Silence is Golden which Leslie Cheung also sung in solo form and is a track in his album Hot Summer.

Michael Hui who got his start in television (which tended to be more experimental then film at the time) was one of the first to bring this hip, contemporary and irreverent attitude to film.
Hui never overdoes it in a scene — there are times you think he could have gone longer with a routine — milked it for a few more laughs — but he prefers ending it to overstaying its welcome.
Hui’s comedy is subtler and gentler — full of lovely still or quiet moments - and at least for me this film and the Hui humor has well stood the test of time.
