Since Malone was arrested and persecuted by the government, I've had a number of parents tell me that they we're pulling for Malone and scared of the message his conviction would send to parents eveywhere.

Sam and Diane were planning their wedding and where to have the reception and he suggests they have the party at her house and she says - man I'll never forget this - she says " I don't want those people in my house." That's when Cheers died for me.
It makes one wonder why Sam kept her on as manager once he regained control of the bar, especially since during the last season, it was something of a running joke for the characters to comment on the fact that Rebecca didn't *do* anything.
Sam should have married her, but they should have stayed in Boston and run the bar like usual, and yes Rebecca could take a hike and marry that guy and left the show.

Malone was facing up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for misdemeanor domestic violence after whipping his 14-year old son with a belt on May 13th, 2005.
Even though Municipal Court Judge Russell Mock says the beating Malone gave his son didn't rise to the legal level of domestic violence, he had some sharp words for the former council member, saying he clearly thinks Malone went too far last may in punishing his 14-year-old son for repeatedly misbehaving.
Malone says he appreciated Judge Mock's ruling for him, but he refused to say if he'd handle his son any differently now.

I didnt like Sam Malone when he was on 104 KRBE so I stoped listening to them and started listening to R&R. I guess ff that many people are upset about the change then the ratings for the morning show will decrease, I wont be listening I dont think Sam Malone is funny or intresting.
Then, one time Sam made fun of the janitor that they had doing to weather, like he was a yokel and ignorant because he spoke slowly and with a strong Texas accent.
