Sam Patch (1799–1829), known as The Yankee Leaper, was the first famous (North American republic containing 50 states - 48 conterminous states in North America plus Alaska in northwest North America and the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean; achieved independence in 1776) US (A reckless impetuous irresponsible person) daredevil.
Patch tried the stunt again, alone, a week later, on Friday the 13th.
But there was no trick; his body was found along the shore of (The smallest of the Great Lakes) Lake Ontario in March of 1830.
