Sam Solovey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sam Solovey was a contestant on Donald Trump's The Apprentice.
His erratic behavior and the infamous "stare" he gave after his firing made him one of the most talked-about contestants on the show, alongside Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, notorious for her excuses and tricks of getting her teammates in trouble, and Bill Rancic, the winner of the competition.
Trump was later quoted as saying "It was a brilliant move.

Sam Solovey   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Sam has become a national celebrity as a result of his well publicized role on the hit television show, The Apprentice.
Selected from 215,000 candidates, Sam quickly made a name for himself as the eccentric who tried to sell a glass of lemonade for $1000, stared down The Donald in the boardroom, and then later offered him a briefcase full of $250,000 in cash.
Sam has recently stepped away from traditional business to return to the auctioneering circuit where he performs and raises money for charities, corporations, and other organizations that benefit from a trained auctioneer.

washingtonpost.com: Sam, Outside the Box and Off the Show
Sam survived the first two weeks, but was selected project manager in Week 3 because, as his teammates put it, they wanted him to "put up or shut up." Or, as Trump saw it, they wanted to set him up to fail.
They all know the real Sam, the guy who is funny and sweet and does stand-up comedy and can get on a roll and won't shut up sometimes, yes, and can get crazy sometimes, yes, but is really terrific, too.
And so college friend Jon Marshall cringed when, in Episode 3, Sam returned to the loft where the contestants are living and sat in a chair by the doorway interminably, adamant that he wouldn't come in until someone greeted him at the door.

David Manning Trivial Liars of the Month for March 2004
Brandishing a suitcase filled with cash, Solovey supposedly offered the oddly-coifed tycoon a $250,000 pay-off for a job….a transparent sham if there ever was one, because as materialistic as Trump may be, a mere $250,000 wouldn't motivate him to do much of anything.
Solovey was quite proud of himself for concocting the idea, which involved pretending to do one thing (playing a light-hearted if unamusing prank at Trump's expense) while actually doing another (saving Samsonite a healthy measure of cash for a high-profile ad.)
Sham Sam's Samsonite scam cheated NBC out of legitimate ad fees, misappropriated the series for personal gain, and generally demonstrated why people like Sam Solovey shouldn't be allowed within 200 yards of a corporate executive suite.

Solovey had fallen asleep on the job, tried to sell a glass of lemonade for $1,000 and has been one of the three finalists for firing in all three episodes.
Had Solovey not been fired this week, it would have shown that Trump was keeping him for entertainment value, not job performance, says Alfred Edmond, editor-in-chief of Black Enterprise magazine.
