		At 20.50 hours on 2 Dec, 1940, the unescorted Samnanger (Master Andreas Hansen) was hit by one torpedo from U-99 and caught fire after being hit in the starboard side by about 30 rounds of 27 high explosive and 25 incendiary shells fired from the deck gun.
		She had been reported missing after straggling from a convoy on 29 November and was wrongly reported lost on 21 December in 08°26N/16°50W, but the U-boat had idientified her victim as Samnanger.
