Kenya's athletics fraternity was once again thrown into mourning following the death at the weekend of Olympic 400 metres medallist Samson Kitur.
Kitur, 37, who won a bronze medal after finishing third in the 400 metres at the 1992 Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain, died on Friday at his rural home in Uasin Gishu District, some 40 kilometres north of Eldoret town, according to his elder brother David Kitur, also a retired athlete.
Kitur's death is the latest to hit the athletics scene.
