Samson's second son, Löb, married a daughter of Issachar ha-Levi Bermann of Halberstadt, a relative of Leffman Behrens, court Jew of Hanover; thus the three great "shetadlanin" were closely connected.

Oppenheimer, who was appointed chief court factor, together with his two sons Emanuel and Wolf, and Wertheimer, who was at first associated with him, devoted their time and talents to the service of Austria and the House of Hapsburg: during the Rhenish, French, Turkish, and Spanish wars they loaned
millions of florins for provisions, munitions, etc. Wertheimer, who, by title at least, was also chief court factor to the electors of Mayence, the Palatinate, and Treves, received from the emperor a chain of honor with his miniature.
Samson Wertheimer was succeeded as court factor by his son Wolf.

Asher Wertheimer, a well known and highly respected art dealer, was born in London, the son of a self-made German Jew who had himself become a prominent London art dealer.
Wertheimer was "nothing short of amazing." Robert Ross, writing in The Art Journal in 1911, described it as "one of the great portraits of the world, the only modern picture which challenges the Doria Velázquez [the portrait of Innocent X] at Rome." However, Sargent's portrait of Mrs.
Wertheimer, bedecked in a white lace-trimmed dress and extraordinarily long rope of oriental pearls, did not go over well with her, although it remained in the family.

Wertheimer served the Hapsburgs for several years as financial adviser and was named chief rabbi of the Hapsburgs' Jewish subjects in Hungary and Bohemia.
Wertheimer retired in Eisenstadt, near the border between Austria and Hungary, and built himself a mansion with a private synagogue.
The restored Wertheimer House was chosen as its site, and the local Red Cross chapter, which was occupying part of the building, was relocated.
