Amnon was King David's firstborn son, born to Ahinoam of Jezreel (1 Chronicles 3:1, 2 Samuel 3:2); Tamar and Absalom, and their half-brother Amnon, all had the same father, King David, but different mothers.
And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent the long robe which she wore; and she laid her hand on her head, and went away, crying aloud as she went." (2 Samuel 13:1-19 RSV)

When Tamar brought Amnon food, he took hold of her, and said [to] her, Come lie with me, my sister.

The Chronology of the Bible: Mike Willis
The Bible and all historians have common agreement on 99% of the chronology of the Bible.
Some misguided Bible students whose aim is to harmonize the biblical account of creation with the pronouncements by scientists that the earth is billions of years old unintentionally are undermining the credibility of the Scripture by capitulating to the old earth theory.
The differences that Bible chronologists have for the date of Abraham is a mere 300 years maximum, which again is a mere pittance of time when one is speaking of an earth that is dated 4.5 billion years old.

Reply To Samuel Green's "The Seven Readings Of The Qur'an"
Green's conclusion that since the Qur'an has 'variation' within its text and hence it is not superior to other Holy Books, which presumably is the Bible.
Green it would be quite clear that the Bible is not worth even considering a scripture as it is clear that it is riddled with variant readings and not a single sentence in the NT is uniform.
It turns out that Katz is merely trying to rehash his already refuted argument by giving it a different colour, i.e., using Samuel Green's work who nevertheless quotes the same references which Katz had quoted.

 King James Version KJV
The King James Version (KJV) is an English translation of the Holy Bible, commissioned for the benefit of the Church of England at the behest of King James I of England.
At the Hampton Court conference, King James proposed that a new translation be commissioned to settle the controversies, and hopefully, to replace the Geneva Bible and its offensive notes in the popular esteem.
King James gave the translators instructions, which were designed to discourage polemical notes, and to guarantee that the new version would be conformed to the ecclesiology of the Church of England.
