  McMillan Family
The mills at McMillan are in charge of Benjamin F. McMillan, who is so practical and thorough in his management that there is no position in the great works, from common laborer to president, that he is not capable of creditably filling.
McMillan was married, in 1834, to Harriet Barbour, who was born November 22, 1815, at Olney, Vt., a daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Smith) Barbour.
In 1890 McMillan Bros. purchased the plant formerly owned by C. Meyer, at Fond du Lac, Wis., and incorporated it as The Winnebago Furniture Manufacturing Co., with a capital of $200,000, and with C. McMillan as president, B. McMillan as vice-president, and E. Herren as secretary and treasurer.

Journal of Modern Literature--Revising Himself:Performance as Text
Samuel Beckett's transformation from playwright to theatrical artist is one of the seminal developments of late Modernist theatre and yet one slighted in the critical and historical discourse.
A dearth of theatrical documentation may account for some of the neglect as scholars and critics traditionally privilege print over performance, that is, the apparent stability or consistency of the literary script over its theatrical realization or completion.
For each of his stagings, for instance, he introduced a "Dim spot on face during halts at R [right] and L [left]" so that May's face would be visible during her monologues.

For the United States, Andrew B. Bernard, J. Bradford Jensen, and Peter K. Schott have studied the factors leading to the exit of manufacturing firms, including competition from low-wage countries and declining trade barriers.
They argue that there is a complementarity between whole ownership and intrafirm trade, suggesting that reduced costs of coordinating global operations, together with regulatory and tax changes, gave rise to the sharply declining propensity of American firms to organize their foreign operations as joint ventures over the last two decades.

How the U.S. Cavalry Saved Our National Parks (Chapter 4)
He was successful in opposing a bill introduced by Senator Samuel J. McMillan of Minnesota to grant a railroad right-of-way through the northern end of the Park, but in so doing he alienated a group of Senators whose support he needed for his own bill.
Senator John R. McPherson of New Jersey, supporting the House provision, contended that a military force drawn from the "five thousand soldiers" then in the vicinity of the Park, and who were serving "no purpose in the world," would afford excellent protection to the Park.
Representative John J. O'Neill of Missouri, replying to Henderson's false charges, claimed that Wear was blameless but that Conger and Carpenter, who were from Iowa and had preceded Wear as Superintendent, were the ones responsible for scandal and corruption in the Park.
