 Samuel Reshevsky
In 1920 Reshevsky was already touring the capitals of Europe to display his skill, and the tiny boy mowed down the opposition in a series of simultaneous exhibitions.
Reshevsky's career as a prodigy ended in 1924 when it was decided that his formal education was long overdue.
Reshevsky's style of play was that of a tough and determined positional player who could nevertheless play the most brilliant tactical chess if the need arose.

The chess games of Samuel Reshevsky
Samuel Herman Reshevsky (Schmul Rzeszewski) was born November 26, 1911 in Ozorkow, Poland.
A meeting of the six prospective contestants (Euwe, Fine, Reshevsky, Botvinnik, Keres and Smyslov as decided by the FIDE and sanctioned by the Dutch Federation) was arranged in Moscow during the U.S.A.-USSR match.
Reshevsky was possibly the most profound child prodigy ever seen in chess, going from an obscure Polish background with no training in chess, and suddenly began giving simuls at age 6 that attracted enough attention for Rubinstein himself to declare that "he will be World Champion someday"

If thin-haired, bespectacled, 31-year-old Reshevsky lived in present-day Russia—where chess is the national pastime and people jam the streets to watch the moves of championship matches on giant dummy boards—he would be a national hero.
But Sam Reshevsky was fortunate enough to come to the attention of the late great Philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, who made him give up exhibition chess at the age of 13 so he could get an education.
Today Reshevsky is one of the world's recognized Grand Masters.* He has crossed the Atlantic four times to compete, and in no tournament has he ever failed to win a prize (first, second or third).
