Mardis presented the petition of the administrators of Thomas McHenry, deed, praying authority to convey a title to certain lands sold by the intestate which was read and referred to the judiciary committee.
Beck, from the committee on inland navigation, to whom was referred the petition of Claiborne Wright, Reported, that the prayer of the petition is unreasonable, and ought not to be granted.

Samuel was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee in 1800 and was the son of Reuben Mardis and Martha Wright.
Prior to 1823, Samuel relocated to Alabama and was elected in 1823 to the Legislature of the State of Alabama.
After Samuel left congress in 1835 he moved to the city of Talladega and died in 1836 at the young age of 36.

Seborn, Samuel, Hillery, John B. and Whyriatt CASON are brothers and a sister Mary Cason Conner came to Independence and Lawrence co., AR in 1834 from Illinois.
Samuel married Jane TOOTLE in 1824 in GA and 2nd wife Jane HOCUTT abt 1851.

It is at least a possibility that they may be connected back in Ireland as Samuel of the other family was also from County Down., and there is at least one marriage between the two families and maybe two.
Major Edward Wright came from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 1797, and settled on the farm that is now owned by his grandson, William, Willians.
Major Wright built the fourth house that was erected within the limits of North Beaver Township.
