Yes this was probably the worst of the Samurai Shodown games in people's eyes but, I can say that the guy who did this Video put a lot of love into it.
I've never given the series a fair try but from the looks of that video, there seems to be a number of fairly easy infinites/100% combos (either that or i'm being delusional).
I\'ve enjoyed this series a lot as a whole and to be honest if you want to play a Samurai Shodown worthy of skill playing, Pick up a copy of Samurai Shodown II.

Samurai Shodown also introduced the idea of the “POW” meter, also known as the “rage gauge.” Set at the bottom of the screen, the meter filled up as players took hits or blocked attacks.
Samurai Shodown’s graphics, sound, features and play control were all praised by fighting game aficionados, who managed to tear themselves away from their Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II machines long enough to turn this SNK game into a genuine hit.

Even though SNK attempted several sequels, Samurai Shodown II was the best of the series.
Samurai Shodown added too many characters and didn't keep enough of the old, and Samurai Shodown IV just didn't add anything at all.
Last Blade II took everything we loved about Samurai Shodown, mixed it all up, and brought us one of the best fighting games out there.

After having to suffer through Samurai Shodown 3's gross lack of innovation, subpar audiovisuals, and lame-oid new cast of characters, the LAST thing I need is to discover that I've wasted fifty cents on an 'evil' version of Galford that is in fact 15 times worse than the original model.
I've heard rumors of Aruze having yakuza ties, but I think Saurus might have had some very powerful friends to get this game released as it was.

 Samurai Shodown V review for the XBOX
Samurai Shodown V inherits the timeless yet dated gameplay you'd expect.
The Rage meter from IV works just as it used to: activate it to break out of a combo you're in and enter Rage, where you can use super special moves to disarm your opponent and cause massive damage.
The background music is in the traditional Samurai minimalist style, with a couple of well-timed vocal accents here and there, but the sound effects for the new characters are so annoying, it's hard to not mute the whole thing.

The first amurai Spirits (Samurai Shodown in the US) game from the new Atomiswave hardware.
Tenkaichi Kenkyakuden (usually refered to as "Tenka" in the US) is filled to the brim with character selections, gameplay options, and beautiful graphic work.
I've play the game a few times in arcade and the PS2 version definately looks the same.

I think the only other females in the game are Nakoruru's sister and Mizuki (the enemy boss of Samurai Shodown II, and there's an implied pairing between her and Kyoshiro if you beat the game using him).
I've never really thought much about it myself, but it seems possible...
Going by Samurai Shodown IV, I would have thought that the "canon" couples were Nakoruru/Galford and Charlotte/Haohmaru.

The machine came with Samurai Shodown installed (one of my absolute favorites of the fighting-game crazed early 90's), and I have Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge & Metal Slug (hells yeah!) on their way from the nether regions of eBay.
Over the last couple of weeks I've acquired some must-have carts, and now all of the slots in my Neo are filled.
Even though I love Samurai Shodown immensely, I've replaced it with Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge, which is so good that it hurts.

Haohmaru, Galford, Hanzo and the rest of the gang return to battle a resurgent Amakusa once again.
Samurai Shodown IV loads a bit faster than Samurai III although frames of animation are still missing and the voices of the characters are noisier than the crisp intonations found in the Neo original.
Still, as staunch fans of all things Neo, we enjoyed the Playstation conversion of Samurai IV despite it's shortcomings.

Once again, a great job has been done on the sound, with some great music and nice ambient noises and the same great sound effects that we are used to.
Many people thought that Samurai Shodown III was a bit of a let down because it messed around with things that shouldn't have been touched in the first place and because it felt slightly unfinished...
As I said in my review of Samurai Shodown II, I don't like to compare the first two games to the third and fourth too much, because they are very different styles of game; if I had to compare them all I would say is that I am split between it and Samurai Shodown 2.

I have seen Samurai Shodown 3, but I have never seen Real Bout Fatal Fury in stores.
It's not on this PC but back home I made a quick spreadsheet (not so great) of every SNK port and what territories they were released in and what date if known.
