The San Antonio Texans were a Canadian football team that played in the Alamodome for the 1995 CFL season.
In their third season in the CFL and their first as the Texans, the team had the second-highest scoring offence in the league, which was led by veteran quarterback David Archer.
In the playoffs, the San Antonio Texans soundly defeated the Birmingham Barracudas, 52-9, in the Southern Semi-Finals at the Alamodome.

In 1731, immigrants from the Canary Islands established the settlement of San Antonio de Bexar.
The Alamo was defended by 189 Texans, divided between regular army soldiers led by Colonel William Travis and volunteer rifleman commanded by James Bowie.
However, control over San Antonio was again disputed during the early days of the Civil War, when a local militia forced the surrender of the federal arsenal even before the official secession of Texas on March 2, 1861.

When I heard the news that the Gold Miners were moving to San Antonio, I said to myself, " YES, CFL is here to stay, forget the NFL, this CFL is a Major League too, better than any previous SA football teams which I thought were Minor League".
If most of San Antonio had a chance to attend the games, that would have been a problem, the League wouldn't have lost money nor it's American franchises.
