Luisito Palmera, Nueva Ecija police director, has issued orders to the San Isidro police to keep “a sound conduct” of the canvassing which will be held at the town council session hall.
In its order, the Court asked the Comelec to create a new Board of Election Inspectors for all precincts in San Isidro and the constitution of a new Municipal Board of Canvassers and the immediate proclamation of the winner of the May 2001 mayoral election in the town once the re-canvassing is completed.

Barangay Captain Ely Cabiedes of Barangay Poblacion, who was the second person at the scene after the janitor, believed that the robbers entered the Comelec office through the back of the Nueva Ecija University Science and Technology.
